About Me

I’m Clansi, and I’m majoring in Nutrition on the Dietetics track. I hope to work as a clinical dietitian with a renal specialty in a hospital. I’m passionate about food, cooking, and helping others find ways to make all foods fit into their lives. I’ve been a distance runner for about 11 years, and I love the challenge of pushing myself to keep going even when it's hard. My husband and I have been married for 14 years, and we have three kids, two dogs, and one cat that keep our home lively. I’m excited to graduate with my degree in Nutrition in December and look forward to pursuing a career where I can combine my love for food with helping others live healthier lives.

About

All Foods Fit

I love to cook and enjoy learning about different foods and cultures from around the world. Food has such a unique ability to bring people together. I believe that all foods can fit into a healthy diet, and it's all about balance and making mindful choices. Exploring new flavors and cooking styles is something I’m truly passionate about, and I love helping others find ways to enjoy food in a way that supports their health and well-being.

Running is Funning

I started running 11 years ago to lose the baby weight after my second child, but it has grown into so much more than that. Running has become a way for me to overcome obstacles and push through tough moments when I feel like quitting. It’s taught me the importance of staying committed to something, even when I want to give up. Over the years, running has helped me build resilience and strength, both physically and mentally, and I’ve come to see it as a challenge I’m ready to face, no matter what.

Family

My husband and I have been married 14 years. We have three kids, two dogs, and 1 cat.
The dogs are Lily and Matilda. Lily is a boxer mix and Matilda is a black mouth cur.
The cat's name is Pookies and she doesn't really care about any of us at all. Haha! She is all cat.

Ends-Based Thinking

Man in the Mirror - Michael Jackson

Waiting on the World to Change - John Mayer

I chose Man in the Mirror by Micheal Jackson and Waiting on the World to Change by John Mayer to illustrate Ends-Based Thinking because the songs emphasize making ethical decisions that benefit the greatest number of people. Man in the Mirror illustrates taking responsibility for change and making choices that benefit the greater good. Waiting on the World to Change reflects on social issues and the need for action to bring about change. It also implies that working together can have positive consequences.

Rule-Based Thinking

Where is the Love - Black Eyed Peas

Honesty - Billy Joel

Where is the Love and Honesty illustrate Rule-Based Thinking because both emphasize universal moral principles that should guide everyone's actions. Where is the Love argues that justice, kindness, and truth should be followed by all, regardless of personal gain. Honesty highlights truthfulness as a duty that people should uphold in all circumstances. These songs illustrate Kantian ethics by promoting moral rules that should apply to all universally. These songs reinforce the thinking that ethical actions are not based on outcomes but on doing what is morally right.

Core-Based Thinking

Jesus, with Thy Church Abide - Thomas Benson Pollock (1868)

How Sweet and Awesome is the Place - Isaac Watts (1707)

These two old Christian hymns reflect Core-Based Thinking by emphasizing love, unity, and a commitment to caring for others as Christ commands. Core-based thinking reflects the Golden Rule, which is fundamental to how Christians should treat both fellow Christians and others. Jesus, with Thy Church Abide, encourages Christians to self-reflect by asking for patience, which aligns with the idea of imagining oneself in another's place. How Sweet and Awesome is the Place? It focuses on gratitude for salvation while urging believers to share the Gospel and care for others. These hymns illustrate the Christian duty to love and support others as they would want to be loved and supported.

1. Word of Thanks

I selected Mr. Gary Brice, my College Algebra instructor, to receive my Thank You card. He had a significant role in shaping how I view professors at Lamar, demonstrating that they are not all intimidating or looking to see students fail. His encouragement helped me overcome challenges and build confidence in math and beyond.
